Credit union supporter Grijalva wins Arizona special election primary
July 17, 2025
In a special election Tuesday, credit union-supported Adelita Grijalva won Arizona’s 7th Congressional District Democratic primary. With 62% of the vote in a field of five Democratic candidates, Grijalva now advances to the Sept. 23 special election. She seeks to fill the seat left open by the death of her father, Rep. Raúl Grijalva.
Adelita Grijalva is supported by the America’s Credit Unions PAC, the GoWest Credit Union Association, and Arizona credit unions in the race for this Congressional seat. She is a credit union member who supports the industry’s work in underserved communities. She served on the Pima County board from 2021 until resigning this year to run for Congress.
